Koh Tao is famous for it’s tropical coral reefs, pinnacles, and colorful marine life. You can see an amazing range of aquatic life close to Koh Tao, including sea turtles, moray eels, rays and brightly colored reef fish.
By far the best way to explore the underwater world is by scuba diving.
Here at Simple Life Resort we have our own in-house PADI 5 Star dive school, so whether you’ve never tried scuba diving before or are an experienced certified diver we can offer you an exciting Koh Tao diving experience.

Option 1: Never Been Diving & Want to Try? 'Discover Scuba Diving'
This one day session runs every day, from 11:00am till about 17:30, giving you the chance to try scuba diving for the first time. No previous experience is necessary.
Meeting at 11:00am, one of our experienced PADI instructors will give you an orientation and together you’ll complete a few forms to make sure you’re safe to scuba dive. Then we’ll give you a short presentation, where you’ll learn the basics of how scuba diving equipment works, and become familiar with a some safe diving practices.
We’ll then board the Simple Life dive boat, and visit one of Koh Tao’s shallow coral reefs. Depending on the conditions this could be the Japanese Gardens at Koh Nangyuan, Mango Bay at the North of Koh Tao, or even Aow Leuk on the East coast of the island.
Your instructor will help you don your scuba gear, then we’ll begin in very shallow water. You’ll get used to breathing underwater, and practice a few simple scuba skills to build up your confidence.
Once that’s complete and you are feeling comfortable it’s time for the best bit – an underwater tour of the coral reef.
Your instructor will guide you on a tour of our amazing corals and marine life, right down to a maximum depth of 12 metres.
You can expect to see lots of coral species (hard brain & pore corals, sea whips and gorgonian fans) and many tropical fish species such as butterfly and angelfish, pink anemone fish, moray eels, wrasses, stingrays and more.
Following the dive we’ll return to the dive boat for a short rest, after which you’ll have the opportunity to make an optional second dive, or enjoy a some snorkeling, or even just relax in the sunshine on the boat.
Finally we’ll return to the dive shop and resort at about 17:00pm.
If you really enjoy the Discover Scuba Diving Session, you can continue diving with additional experience dives, or even sign up for you PADI Open Water course.

The following rates are for staying 2 nights at Simple Life Resort, and joining the Discover Scuba Diving tour.

Option 2: Get Certified >> PADI Open Water Course
Taking the PADI open water course gives you your license to dive anywhere worldwide right down to a maximum depth of 18 meters.
The PADI open water course involves three steps - scuba diving theory, shallow water training, and four proper dives on the coral reefs around Koh Tao. You'll get to explore the underwater world of colorful aquatic life, deep sea pinnacles and even sunken ship-wrecks having have a fantastic time along the way.

Including manual, certification, and all equipment rental the course usually runs for 9,800 baht, but when you stay at Simple Life Resort we can offer you the special rate or 8,600 baht per person.

Option 3: Already a Certified Diver >> Daily 'Fun Diving' Tours
If you already hold a diving certification you’re welcome to join our daily ‘fun diving’ tours.
Each day we make two dive trips – two dives during the morning (from about 07:45am till 12:00pm), then two more dives in the afternoon session (from around 12:30pm till 17:00).
We make a big effort to rotate round all of Koh Tao’s best dive sites, so if you’re diving for a few days will get to see masses of marine life and visit all the best spots. We choose our dive sites each day based on the diving conditions, always endeavoring to provide the best possible diving experiences.
‘Fun Dives’ are guided by our experienced PADI Divemasters, who dive in small groups to make sure everyone gets to enjoy long dives, see lots of aquatic life and enjoy a great time.
When you arrive on Koh Tao we’re happy to have a chat about what dive sites we’ll be visiting over the coming days, and line up a diving schedule that suits you.
